Week 10 - CST338 (Module 1)

This week was definitely a step up from anything in the previous class. I feel like I am really getting into the program now, and unfortunately drastically underestimated how much time I would need for this module and procrastinated far too long.

I really enjoyed the Coding Bat challenges, though. I found the interface easy to use and found the exercises that right amount of challenging for me. I started off with what I thought would work, and was lucky in the beginning with a few of my answers. I didn't know Java before this class, all of my classes were in C++, but thankfully I'm not finding it drastically different (like I had feared).

As the coding challenges strayed from what seemed obvious to me, I did have to look up how different things worked. As I moved onto each section, I found that I would get stuck pretty quickly, but after doing two or three exercises and having to look up how to do them, I felt like I had a base for moving forward.

I would say for every exercise it probably took 3-5 tries on average (excluding retrying after quick-fixes).

I'm assuming that we will continue using Coding Bat, but if not I have it saved to try and squeeze in more time on the exercises. I can imagine they will be handy as a refresher down the road.
